Business Data Analyst (f/m/d)

US market leader in the field of vehicle history since 1984, CARFAX has also been pioneering on the European market for the last ten years. Our vision is to increase transparency and confidence in the European used car market. We have retained the start-up feeling with flat hierarchies and flexible decision-making processes, even though we are currently employing 55 people in five European countries. We are looking for a dynamic Business Data Analyst (f/m/d) for our headquarter in the heart of Munich.

A typical day will have you:

• Doing complex research and analysis to support business initiatives, projects, and products by providing business and technical expertise for overall analytics
• Identifying data abnormalities and providing insights on opportunities for product/ processes improvements to reach max. optimization
• Deriving, documenting, and communicating analytical business requirements
• Working collaboratively with cross functional groups to define business requirements
• Working with internal and external customers to extract maximum value from data and communicating with these stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of your projects
• Working with the development teams to determine long term sustainable technical solutions

You’ll need:

• 1-3 years of experience performing data analytics
• Experience in Python or SQL and advanced Excel skills
• Experience in R, SPSS, SAS, R are a plus
• Knowledge in ETL tools (Pentaho, Talend) and (No-)SQL databases (e.g. MongoDB) are a plus
• A positive, can do attitude for new challenges in an environment with competing priorities
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and support skills; you’re a strategic thinker
• A keen eye for quality; detail-oriented working style
• An aptitude to explore innovative ways to analyze data
• Experience in effectively communicating analysis and insight to all levels of the organization
• An appetite for continuous learning and confidence to challenge the status quo
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, emphasizing technical writing
• Bachelor’s degree required
